We believe in creating new places for new people. When we say that our mission is to make disciples across the street and around the world, we really believe that each time we cross a new street, it gives us opportunity to make new disciples.
This is a part of our heritage. First Church has started, or helped to start, most of the other United Methodist congregations in Lexington, including Hope Springs, Park, Epworth/Embrace, Southern Hills, Centenary and our own Downtown, Andover and Offerings communities.
Across our conference, we have seen that we reach more people when we have more congregations. We plan to continue creating new places for new people by starting 4th, 5th and 6th communities of First Church in the years to come.
